The Pantheons consist of the Zodiac and the Major Arcana. The Pantheons are widely regarded as the protectors of the universe and their disappearance is treated as a tragedy.It is believed that the gods gave their disciples the ability to harness magic and that their disappearance took their magic with them.

There were thirteen Zodiac gods, all named after the constellations. Jealousy drove Ophiuchus, the outlier among the thirteen Zodiac gods, mad because the others received worship while he did not.He attempted to overthrow his brethren, resulting in his banishment to the mortal world, and he was cursed to wander indefinitely.

Nobody knows what happened to the twelve. Prophets believe that the Old Gods' return and Ophiuchus' banishment have something to do with their disappearance.

The twelve each have a specific characteristic based on their element.
Fire - Animalistic features (1, 5, 9)
Earth - Antlers (2, 6, 10)
Air - Wings (3, 7, 11)
Water - Scales/Fish tails (4, 8, 12)

Ophiuchus still wanders Arcanus, powerless and broke. A god reduced to a nomad with no influence.

After Ophiuchus was banished, the remaining twelve produced the Major Arcana. The Major Arcana are widely regarded as lesser deities, tasked with protecting the universe's life forms, while the Zodiac focus on channeling their magic through magic and keeping the universe safe from cosmic threats.There are twenty-two Major Arcana deities. They have had Tarot (in this universe) named after them.

The Old Gods are widely regarded as the creators of the universe. They were the very first beings in the universe and--despite their destructive and power-hungry nature--have legends of how they granted mortals wishes and answered prayers.When praying to an Old God, however, they took them literally and every favor always came at a price--usually the mortal soul.The Old Gods grew bored of being expected to protect life forms, themselves, so they made the Zodiac and gave them free will to take the burden of being relied on. This worked too well, though, because when the Zodiacs realized that the Old Gods were the biggest threat to life in the universe, they combined their power to force them to the edge of the universe and cursed them to endless sleep.

When the Zodiacs banished them, they stored most of their power away in a large mirror and hid the mirror in an old Temple of Sylvestra.

Until they find their artefact, they are reduced to wispy dragons that can only be seen in dreams and heard by their vessel.

Arcanus is a large, warm continent closer to the middle of the planet. It has a few surrounding islands.It is full of thick, enchanted woods and beautiful fields. It is also home to many different species, from elves to centaurs.Arcanus contains a kingdom of the same name that was run by Empress Sylvestra. It is still run by her, but through a prophet because of Sylvestra's status.The biggest cities are floating in the sky, said to have been held up by Sylvestra as a precaution if invasion were to ever take place and her fog failed to keep out the Old Gods.

Empress Sylvestra is often believed to have been the last of the Major Arcana who didn't disappear because she was in Arcanus when the others did. She was the only living, sentient being in the world with magic.When the Old Gods returned through Kryzali and began their reign of terror and destruction, Sylvestra walked into the ocean at moonhigh to rejoin the stars. Instead of leaving Arcanus following her death, though, she used her celestial body to form a massive purple fog to surround the continent of Arcanus--shielding the continent and kingdom from the Old Gods and only allowing trade to and from.Sylvestra continues to rule the country through a "prophet" of her choosing. She can communicate with them through an orb in the throne room and control what happens through governmental Arcanus, as well as what to do in case of invasion.

Treszya is the southernmost continent harboring a kingdom of the same name. It used to be warm and full of life until the Old Gods were able to reach the grieving princess, who had just lost her family and was forced to take up the throne before she could properly process their deaths.Now, Treszya is a frozen wasteland, full of reanimated corpses and horrific winters. The only living being is Queen Kryzali, who is kept alive and young by the Old Gods so they can continue their path of destruction to regain their full power.

Treszya is ruled over by Queen Kryzali, who took the throne at the age of fifteen after her parents were assassinated by a rebel group. They were caught before they got to Kryzali, saving her life.Kryzali was heartbroken when she found out that her parents were dead and wasn't allowed time to grieve them before the royal advisor threw her into a coronation and forced her to take the title of Queen. She struggled with ruling in her parents' place and rejected the idea of marrying off to another country.When she was eighteen, a dragon god came to her in her dreams. He promised her back her parents if she agreed to bind herself to him and his brothers, to act as a vessel for their power. She agreed, ignorant to the true identity of the dragon before her.Thus, the reign of the Old Gods began. They started by spreading a plague around the continent, killing anyone and everyone who came into contact, only to reanimate their corpse with half of their soul--binding them to the Old Gods and turning them into unquestioning soldiers.

In the bots for this series, it has been a millennium since Sylvestra became the fog and the Old Gods returned to the planet.USER is an amalgamation of magic unknowingly formed by the Zodiacs when they sealed away the Old Gods' magic after banishment. She was trapped in a mirror for many, many generations.
